join in!

i whipped up a little icon to remind myself of my 2013 sewing re-sew-lution. see previous post here. thank you for all of your feedback! i thought it would be nice to spread the enjoyment around, so if you'd like to focus on enjoyment too, please take a copy of the image above for your blog and post a list of what you'll do to focus on enjoyment! leave me a comment with a link to your blog too!

how will i focus on enjoyment?
  • dedicate myself to one project at a time
  • quality over quantity
  • no crazy deadlines
  • be less critical of finished projects
  • take a break when i'm not feeling it
  • sewing with friends
  • a glass of wine, some gummy bears, or chocolate while sewing - why not? and they make great pattern weights too!
  • rock out to pandora radio while sewing. dance breaks are allowed.

once you've written your post, let me know and i'll add a link to your blog so everyone can check out your ideas! remember, everyone's lists can be different!

are you focusing on enjoyment? these sewers are!:

    1. Yay! I've found it really helps to stay in a "fun mind-set". It's not a chore so i shouldn't get so stressed about it. More fun, less stress!!

  8. Yep, I'm in too. Sewing purely for enjoyment sounds like a great idea, especially with the addition of wine and chocolate!

  9. Fab idea, lovely! I do my best sewing with a G&T, my dogs by my feet and some tv on in the background. Preferably something cheerful and sassy (read: Golden Girls or Pretty Little Liars). What a wonderful focus for 2013!

A full day of sewing sounds fab!

  12. Love it! Count me in too!

It's so easy to get overwhelmed reading other blogs and seeing how much everyone else manages to sew up, sometimes it gets me down and I freeze at the thought of how much sewing I feel I need to do to keep up! Isn't that silly?!

I'm going to borrow your button and post up soon with my ideas too. My goals will include sewing with friends and hanging out with other sewing bloggers (already got the next meet pencilled in for the 20th) and just to have fun making what ever I want, no plan, no pressure just sew :)

  15. You are absolutely right! This is a great resolution. Sew because it's fun and nothing else. It's hard not to read blogs and then feel inadequate. I think everyone does it. Some people are so prolific! I tend to go through spurts. So I try and save things to blog about during dry spells. I just love your resolution!

    1. That's smart, i should save projects and space them out. I always want to post a project as soon as it's done, which usually means i haven't taken great photos yet. I need to just wait and take better photos before posting something!

  28. I thought I was the only one who sewed whilst eating gummie bears and drinking wine, listening to Pandora! We could be related. I sew every chance I get. I love your sight and agree that sewing should be fun. Can't wait to see what you do next.
